Well we set off from Home courtesy of Gail to MCR airport - then after a relax in the BA lounge took the shuttle to LHR. After some issues we got the New Delhi flight (albeit in emergency seats!) Quick 8hr flight and then attempted to navigate transit at New Delhi when they identified BA had not sent our luggage... We continued on the 1hr 20m Indigo flight from Delhi to Kathmandu - n a brand new plane - and saw Everest from the plane, awesome. We landed and raced through immigration having prepared our photos earlier!! We then jumped a taxi van through the polluted, loud and dusty Kathmandu 'roads' to our hotel. It is in a reasonably quiet sidestreet away from Thamel. We enjoyed a tea and wifi courtesy of the Madhuban Guest House, in the sweet warm sunshine (70 degrees-ish). Large room with balcony and en-suite (but not as you are all imagining.. somewhat - well Asian). We are at 1250m here, fairly high on the plateau. Went out for lovely dinner Vegetable Nepalese Thali, spicy and tasty.......yummy. Walked back in the near pitch black streets dodging pot holes, pot sellers and potty drivers! Lively place with photo opps aplenty - can't wait! Anyhow off to sleep early after missing so much - speak soon, love to you all.
