So, on 2nd February we got our altered flight to Singapore. Just after we had finished our meal but before the stewards/esses had cleared up the pilot banked hard to the right to try and avoid some cloud but failed and we had the worst turbulence either one of us had experienced. Red wine went everywhere! We landed safe and sound however and checked into 7th storey hotel.
That night we wandered into little India, which isn't little in the slightest, and had an extremely large fresh produce market after dark. We also found a pub called the Prince of Wales with discounted beer..... Way to embrace new cultures!!
The next morning we set out early to visit the famed Orchard road shopping area. The shopping was hectic and expensive but we managed to find incredible sushi for a tuppence and a Borders to relax and pretend we were back home. That night we visited Clarke Quay, which is one of the current trendy places to go out and stumbled across a bar called the clinic where you can drink whilst sitting in working wheelchairs! The movement of wheelchairs was strictly prohibited by fed up looking staff, but we managed to get a few tricks in. You can also drink a cocktail out of a drip!
Singapore was a bustling, ultra modern city, with all the amenities needed for a quick rest-bite on our way to the rest of South East Asia. Our next stop is Phuket in Thailand.
