Ni Hao from China!!

Welcome to our new blog, hopefully we'll stick with this one as we understand how it works!!

Been In Beijing for a week now, actually starting to feel like a local (although a foot taller and blonder than the average citizen). We are no longer lone travellers and have picked up our tour group of 11. Heading to Xi'an tomorrow on our first overnight train, can't wait!

Highlights so far:

• Meeting Leen (our new belgian friend) trying to find the olympic park.
• Then meeting her friend Prasanth (our new Indian friend!), whose washing machine and local knowledge was very useful :)
• Trekking the great wall for 5 hours in extreme heat and realising we should have done our research before going on this trip, or at least some training!
• The flying fox to finish off our trek to save us a further 20 mins walk.
• Sharon's face when we realised we were spending 3 nights in a monestry.
• All of the olympic park (one of Sharon's favourites, all 3 times!)
• Feeling like a celebrity at all the tourist spots, even posing with the locals now!
• Low light - the squat toilets, higlight - the toilet in the posh bar (that Carrie took a photo of!)
• Walking off a hangover in the gardens at the temple of Heaven, after a night dancing at the salsa bar.
• Rice....
• Noodles...
• More Rice...
• More Noodles....
