She says: For the first time, We were the last ones on board for a flight. We just zipped on to a plane that was filled with passengers all belted up. Turkish Airlines was very efficient, as we are still not set to takeoff for fifteen minutes. OK, that quick stop at Burger King made us cut it pretty close! Fortunately, the late arrival ensured that we didn't have longer than absolutely necessary on this plane in our economy seats.
We thought we had missed the flight when we arrived to our gate to find the walkway roped off and no plane. Luckily, an employee armed with a walnut talkie found us and rushed is to the changed gate.
In the three and a half days left in our holiday, we still have five flights. We will be spending about as much time in the air as in the ground.
This will be a quick one hour flight to Istanbul, then another one to Vienna for our overnight stop there.
With my still recovering ear infection, the Turkish doctor showed me (the language barrier prevented a lot of talking) to hold my mouth wide open during take off and landing. I'm sure I look really cool.
I'm heading into airplane mode now. More later!
We are now in the air, at cruising altitude, on a route that includes lots of turns, it seems. The flight from Isranbul to Antalya had been our worst and we were both feeling anxiety about this flight. We just hope it goes by quickly. Matt's plugged into his iPod, listening to some tunage and I'm rocking to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode soundtrack. Proven stress buster.
