He says: Today was a 2 for 1 country special. After docking in Monaco, we decided to take the 45-minute one-Euro scenic bus ride to Nice, France. It was a great decision. Our drive was something out of a James Bond movie, with huge cliffs and seaside views.

Nice is a celebrity Mecca with Bono, Elton John, and Sean Connery among its residents. It's clear why they choose to spend time here - it's beautiful.

We got dropped right near the downtown core and went straight to a bakery for a 90-cent baguette. All I needed was a neckerchief and a pack of smokes and my transition to a Frenchman would have been complete. Shauna and I spoke French all day to everyone we encountered, and it was nice being able to communicate in the local language.

We happened upon a really cool art/music/jewelry store where we chatted with the owner about his adventures with Eric Clapton, Bono, and Julian Lennon. We picked up our anniversary piece of art at the store too - a photo (one of only five) of Louis Armstrong jamming backstage at the 1948 Nice Jazz Festival.

After hitting the beach to cool off, it was back to Monaco!
