Welcome to my travel blog. I gave up work in the middle of 2010 to take some time out and do some of what I'd always wanted to do - travel without a fixed end date! I hoped and succeeded to get to a few places that I'd always thought would be difficult on a two-week holiday, but I had no set plans other than my next plane (or bus or train) ticket and a guide book.
After two years, I returned home to a new job, and have since been spending my holidays exploring Europe with my partner Helen.
For those who don't know me, I'm from the UK and you will see from the pictures that I do a lot of hiking. I had backpacked around several parts of the world before, but in shorter bursts (Eastern Europe, South-East Asia, China, New Zealand, Alaska, Egypt, Morocco). If there is any interest out there, then maybe I might one day get around to extending my blog backwards in time to include these previous trips, but as things stand this blog now covers just over 5 years of travelling.

Izuan Few years ago, some hikers whom experienced climbing the Victoria Peak has claimed that this peak is taller than the Low's Peak (more than 4,1++m)
