Bunchy and Wee Bunchy do the world!
Been updated at bottom.x
Just arrived in HCMC (Saigon to you "conservatives" or is it "Conservatives" as we were labelled for referring to it in this way!)
After a crazy day of not knowing; how we were going to leave our hotel (boat from inside the lobby), what we were gonna do for food (boiled rice served from a second floor room), if flights were leaving from Danang (they were), and if seats were available (again, they were), where we were going to stay (HCMC) and if we'd catch up with our friends (we did, pub crawl then made breakfast this morning), everything worked out!
About to hit the city now!
Be well people
Stevo and Shan
UPDATE from Shanita:
It was so amazing to catch up with Kim and Brian- they took us to lots of bars and we got fairly drunk! The next morning we had a lovely breakfast together and then they headed on. So we spent the day doing a self guided walking tour from the lonely planet. Its a massive city so we barely scratched the surface in our short time there but the War museum was well worth the visit. It was extremely sad and very difficult to understand the attrocities that took place. We also went for a massage- by trained blind masseurs. Well...i wouldnt exactly say it was enjoyable. It was in this big old ugly building and steve was taken to one wing and myself to another. I walked in and immediately thought of hospitals- not very conjucive to a relaxing massage- it smelt so strong of something like TCP so i kind of thought 'at least its clean' but it also made me feel as if i was lying on the operating table. The masseuse didnt speak a word of english so i got a bit confused- i thought she was telling me to lie on the bed, but then she kept tugging at my clothes and i realised she meant for me to remove my clothes. Anyway, it was an experience- just one i dont want to repeat! Love Shanita and Steven xxx- comments
