So after the worst flight I have ever possibly been on due to turbulence and the fact me and 2 lads seats would not go back as they were by the emergency door so we were upright the whole time was so uncomfortable! No space either so had no sleep. Landed in Oz at 9am Oz time we are 9 hours ahead of the U.K jet lag is going to be great at home! A brief problem with my visa at the airport but apart from that straight through and realisation I was in AUSTRALIA! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be here but here I am waiting for a taxi in Cairns, Queensland! Culture shock immediately hits you after spending so long in South East Asia with everyone coming up to you, scammers etc but of course will miss the locals. Such good times in Asia so this was just like being at home only better of course! Couldn't check in till 1 so stayed by the pier on Esplanade, hit me a little when had my tunes in that i was actually here. Crazy! Checked in after walking round Cairns all morning and had some food then had a power nap (grandad) then went shopping for some new running shoes after mine got nicked in Laos as I will be running everyday over here and today I have cut down on cigarettes as too expensive over here. Got some running vests also and other little things. Went to the night market for food which was lush cost 13$ which is about £6. Came back to the hostel and ready for a decent lay in ready to start activities tomorrow!
