Love how you feel after a decent sleep on Valium feel completely fresh. At breakfast met a guy from the US called Anush and we said we would go to the Kuang Si waterfall around 14 miles from here. Been advised about this and Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site so couldn't wait to check it out. Bus was all Japanese, South Koreans and we were with a girl called Anne from the states who works in the convention that supports Barack Obama I can't remember fully what role she said but she works on the campaign to support him and said she works 100-120 HOURS A WEEK at her most busiest! Nuts! With another girl also who was a bit of a liability she had to be back early so our visit got cut short and was a nightmare on the trek I don't know why they have to be so dramatic on the most littlest things like stepping in a puddle so your flip flop gets wet?! Why make the loudest scream about it?! :) So we walked to the waterfall and was blown away by it, absolutely stunning! We had little time but wanted to walk to the cave there the hill to walk up was serious leg day as it always is but this was really extreme. Once at the top the conditions were made worst when it started raining cats and dogs the mud was so slippy and made worse for me as I had to wear my Fred Perry's as some thieving little p****at the hostel nicked my blue trekking shoes I bought in Vietnam, fuming! So I was like Bambi on ice! We got to a point where we were never going to make the cave so walked back still a decent day out the views were amazing got some great pictures. Back at the hostel I sorted my laundry and then I went into town to sort my phone SIM as it was playing up and Anush later joined me. Met up with Tom and Tanya and 3 girls who were at their hostel so we all went to the night market for some awesome food and then went to Utopia for drinks. Utopia was seriously cool very chilled out we were sinking the Beerlao's and having great banter in there Tom was cracking us up with some stories from up north. Shut at half 11 so the only other option after is to go bowling ha which we said no to so just hung out on the street like kids drinking beers and eating more street food. We all split ways I was going to do the elephant trekking tomorrow but may do in Chiang Mai instead expect will head that way tomorrow think I have had enough of Laos and would be good to see Rhi at some point so expect will do that. Back at the hostel people were still drinking so sat with them 2 guys from Essex were there with a ukulele and 2 other girls, proper lads the thing I have missed most since the lads left they were a great laugh. They were staying at another hostel but got their Facebook in case meet on our travels again. Think that crazy banter is what I missed in Laos I think to do Laos you need to be in a group on your own it is good but would be so much better in a group. Still, really good to have done Laos that is all the top half of South a East Asia done now so will see Guus again in a couple of days and then meet Rhi also!
