As per, the night bus wakes us all up before 6 with the worst music they could play. Get off for Siem Reap at half 6 and first checked the situation in Bangkok as a bomb had exploded probably around 15 minutes away from Khoa San Road by the train station yesterday which we all couldn't believe happened and is unheard of out here anywhere. We then headed to a hostel we had heard was cool called Funky Flashpackers but was fully booked so went round the corner to Topsky hostel which was nice anyway decent air con in the rooms and the staff all the same family were lovely. Sorted laundry, had a shower and got ready to go to the worlds largest religious monument the highlight they say of South East Asia - Angkor Wat. A tuk tuk driver named 'Teddy' took us to the hostel and I got him to take us all around Angkor for the day for 15USD. First stop, the main one Angkor Wat. Greeted on arrival to a load of tour guides one we took on was 15USD for an hour, poor Teddy having to wait in his tuk tuk the whole day for us ha! Strange workings in Cambodia. Took us around the 900 year old temples and you just can't work out how they built something like this all those centuries ago. The most incredible thing I've seen it is stunning to think it was built in the 12th century. Heavily damaged by the French and Vietnamese over the years but still amazing to look at. It's a UNESCO world heritage site which says it all, one for the bucket list that is good to have been done. We're here for a couple of hours in the boiling heat the day was perfect we had a good bit of banter on one of the stalls as me and Willem were wearing vests we had to buy t shirts due to having to have your shoulders covered. I got yet another wife as soon as you start laughing and bantering with them, the price drop gets easier when haggling so always having a laugh about how will marry them and take them home ha! Work out your own tactics out here but they work. After that got some food the Lok Lok food here in Cambodian stalls is amazing I think we have done enough for the locals over the last few months always eating and talking with them, the street and stall food is the best in Asia anyway preferred to a sit down restaurant. After this moved on to Angkor Thom with a killer amount of steps, then into Bayon which was a really cool temple and then onto Ta Prohm. By this point it was 4pm and it was like Myanmar we had seen enough temples for one day and nothing would beat Angkor Wat it is the best and most famous temple in the world! In one of the temples some girls were great for banter with us when we were buying more vests and trousers. Left with Teddy where we said take us to a local restaurant but shock took us to the most expensive. Chilled at the hostel I face timed Kelly G which was good to catch up and spoke with Dani who had a job interview today. Went out for dinner after for a few beers, Willem went back as was knackered and me, Bas and Guus went to the night market for a few beers and to check out what was at the market
