This was our luxury part of the trip - we booked hotels from both sides of the falls - the argentinian and the brazilian - directly in the National Parks. That meant 5 star hotels with swimming pools and the option to see the falls early or late in the day without the major crowds arriving by bus or train around mid morning. And what a sight it was - an unbelievable display of a natural spectacle!! As we visitited in the rainy season - but we hardly had any tropical rainfall - the falls were in full display with massive watermasses drenching us from top to toe and making an incredible noise, with about 300 different waterfalls - we all loved it! There remains the big question - better to visit from the argentinian side or the brazilian one - I don`t think it really matters - we were glad to see them from both sides though!
And we were also glad to stay in a 5 star hotel , because we had our first trip to a medical clinic with Niklas developing really bad stomach pains and a possible ulcer - all the preceding HSC and tonsillitis illness combined with the food challenges on our trip , seemed to have taken its toll on him. He is now on medication and is very careful what he eats - no more big asado steaks for him !! , but he still has quite a lot of pain and can`t enoy the trip as much as we do. We hope he continues to improve....
