SGIB in South America
From Torres del Paine, we drover over to Argentina for a quick visit to El Calafate and the Perito Moreno glacier.
The glacier is some 80 km out of town and absolutely worth the visit. Beautiful blue colours due to the sun light breaking in the ice, great nature, plenty of good information about glaciers and a constant cracking and creaking from the glacier which moves some 2m per day. Also often large pieces of ice are breaking off the face of the glacier (40-70 m high) and create icebergs.
The south of Patagonia is full of glaciers on both side of the border.
