so how did the royal welsh go??? want to hear all about it....
The massage was the worst thing that's ever happened to me...i advise you all, never ever go for a massage by a blind cambodian! it was torture! (bit wrong for me to call it 'torture' considering i had it done the day i visited the killing fields...but for me, honestly it was hell)...ouch ouch ouch!
We left Phnom Penh for Siem Reap to visit the Angkor Temples. These are Unesco sites, considered to be as incredible as the pyramids and machu picchu...and they really didn't dissapoint. The temples were built between the 11th and 13th century by the Kings, some in buddhist styles other hindhu fashion. The largest and best preserved temple at the site, Angkor Wat, dedicated first to Vishnu (Hindu) and then Buddhust is of clasical Khmer architecure and has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors. We woke up at 4.30 (!!!) so that we could watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat....waw waw waw! incredible! absoultely stunning! In total, we visited 8 temples, all amazing - especially the ones that had has been left in much the same condition in which they were found with the trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings made them so incredible.
Heading back to Bangkok tomorrow, and will be leaving the girls on monday as i'll be flying to Shanghai to meet Wayne.
