Whitsunday islands, Atherton Tablelands & Cape Tribulation

We had a great time on the Whitsunday islands in Airlie beach despite our boat being a bit of a "booze cruise"? the three of us had good fun and we got to snorkel in the ocean and saw loads of amazing fish! (However, as we had not seen as many tropical fish as we would have liked, we've booked a day cruise on the outer Barrier Reef on Monday, looking forward!) When we got back to mainland we were greeted by Wales playing rugby against Australia - And despite losing, I still somehow got roped into joining a Jelly Wrestling competition! Winner was to receive 500 dollars?.so off I went, but unfortunately didn't win! Amazing fun though and the bruises speak volumes!!!

Got to Cairns and caught up with Jane (Dyffryn) again which was lovely!

We decided (Sez, Hel and myself) to hire a campervan to cruise north of Cairns for five days. We've had an amazing time - and have possibly seen one of the most beautiful places ever! Cape Tribulation was incredible - the great barrier reef joining the rainforest. Tropical beaches -absolute paradise! Although unfortunately we could not swim in sea due to all of the stingers everywhere at moment.

We went jungle surfing which was so much fun, felt like a real tarzan!! it entailed os us wearing a harness and dangling off a zip wire at 25m above the ground. it was brill, we got to zip down five different wires, one slow and rest fast , well apart from the one where you had to zip upside down! you saw quite a different perspctive of the rainforest from this angle!

We also went croc spotting! We were lucky enough to spot four crocs out there in the wild in their natural habitat. The mangroves are so spectacular!We also went to Atherton Tablelands - we felt like we were back in new Zealand again! Loads of waterfalls, lakes and mountains, again very beautiful.Out again tonight to support Wales v's the aussies, fingers crossed! Fly out of Cairns on Tuesday to Singapore.
