So, after the Amazon, Cuzco was much the same… lots of relaxing and chilling out, a few massages and meeting really cool people at the hostel! Liv and Freddy reappeared, and we hung out with Ronnie and Charlie (two LOVELY Brit chicks) too… was really great to meet so many lovely people there, and to chill out… after one massive night for me, the next day was spent hung over watching The OC in the TV room, and trying to convince myself to get out of my sleep...

OMG, so it´s been so LONG since I wrote my last blog, so I hope you´re prepared for a really long one...If you can really be bothered I´ve included all the Cuzco stuff which isn´t really that great, or you can skip down to the **** for the Amazon stuff! So when I last bothered to write poor Kirbs was struck down pretty ill with what we can only imagine was food poisoning... From the first day things only seemed to go downhill for the poor love. Tues I hung out in the hostel all day, and had some sleeps (apparently in dire need!) and managed to cancel our Amazon trip with no cancellation fees. So, the last time I posted it was all about the mine tours in Potosi. Probably a really fitting time to write now, as we've met so many people from Koala Den (the hostel there!) again here!!! From Potosi Kirbs and I got a cab to the bus station. Apparently it was going to be really easy to get a bus from there and it was going to be really cheap… as soon as we got there we were mobbed by a crowd of locals who were shouting to us in Spanish and we just couldn't...

Today was absolutely amazing!!! Such an eye opener to see a real working mine and to have even a small idea of the conditions that they work in! our tour operator (Pedro Negro - Black Peter) was an absolute crack up and kept cracking jokes and swearing all the time. We left the hostel at 8:30 to begin the tour, and stopped along the way to change clothes into the protective jacket, pants and gumboots. VERY stylish!
