So one of the joys of walking around by myself was getting lost and just exploring a non-touristy part of town. i ended up this mall like thing with little shops and restaurants. This place was selling this soup that i wanted to try...but the (cute) guy couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand him...so i trusted my gut and ordered it! they take these flavored dough cubes (green tea, red bean,etc) and boil it in water for a few minutes until it becomes translucent, then they put them into a soup mixture of very cooked red beans and peanuts. It was lightly sweet. I was still a bit doubtful so this woman next to me helped translate my uncomfortable look on my face and assured me it was all vegetarian. I love Taiwan! :)
