Unfortunately, our travel plans have changed for the best interests of our family and we have returned to Canada....although not returning home to Yellowknife yet. We likely won't be keeping up with the travel blog too often but will try to keep in touch. Hard and strange to wear pants, socks and closed shoes again after so many months and weren't thrilled about the snow flurries yesterday but happy spring....and Easter!!

Been having some issues lately with the blog – seems like it’s under repair for routine maintenance when I want to post something!!! It’s strange that the sand is so fine, it squeaks! Feels like baking soda under your toes! We find the mini crabs fascinating as they leave tiny balls of sand in amazing patterns when they bury themselves into the sand…..and there are thousands of them! The beach house is amazing and very much a strong point for some R&a...

We left Sydney this morning and flew to the Sunshine Coast Airport (1.5 hour flight) and arrived at Coolum Beach where the weather is very humid and feeling the effects of the cyclones. The rain was a welcome relief but still in high 20’s! We are staying a week here at our former-Yellowknife friends Brenda & Murray’s FABULOUS beach house!! G'day! It has been a couple months since Lauren rode a horse so she had a lesson in Centennial Park in the middle of Sydney (kind of like a mini Central Park) which was lovely for us watching in the shaded sidelines but HOT for 'Joe' and Lolo in the direct sun at 29C.....but she loved it! Quite the Equestrian Centre with a 200 horse capacity in the middle of the city! The hot weather and humidity are back so enjoying some indoor downtown sights like the Sydney...

Happy St Paddy's Day!! Yesterday we mastered the public transit system taking the bus, train and water ferry to the Taronga Zoo which was amazing! Such wonderful and interactive exhibits with a gorgeous view of the city! It reminded us of the San Diego Zoo being built on slopes. The baby gorilla and of course the koala bears were a hit! Seeing the infamous Opera House and Harbour Bridge were great with so much activity on the water. Today was a relaxing bea...
