This was the day that I became a Boca Juniors fan. The day started at 3.30 where we meet are guides for the day Pato and Andres two hardcore Boca fans who turned out to be absolute legends.
We hopped on a bus to La Boca where we met Clint an annoying American who knew nothing about football and just kept shouting BOCA, even thou we were told not to because we were in the Banfield end.
We all pilled in a rustic Boca mad bar and had free beer and pizza socking up the pre match Atmosphere. We then got escorted by the guides to the ground snapping the rustic South American streets feeling a little nervous as we didn't know what to expect. Pato and Andres seemed to be well connected and they keept us safe.
Entering La Bombdera was fantastic the open plan stadium gave fantastic views of La Boca and the downtown skyline. Boca were unbeaten and could win the league with s draw or a win and they were playing Banfield bottom of the league so we were guaranteed goals. The first 45 mins was a reserve team game not that we new due to how loud and passionate the fans are. Boca win the game 1 - 0 and we are now ready for the first team. As the teams come out the place erupted every single Boca fan was jumping up and down and signing so much the stadium was bouncing. Fireworks and confetti were gong off, it was like nothing I had ever experienced at a football ground before. As the game started the Banfield fans starting putting up there flags. Boca finished the half 2 - 0 the first was a scrappy goal and the second was a fantastic volley from a corner. At the start of the second half we can't see the goal due to the masses of flags. A 35 yard screamer seals the second half Boca win the league the place erupts again we leave with all are valuables intact. As soon as night falls La Boca feels every unsafe but this adds to the excitement, we are escorted back to the bar for the after party which involved a lot of banging on drums and singing! A fantastic day Boca for life.
