The road to Tamworth is winding and very hilly and at some stage during the past 1000kms we have done nothing but continue to climb and crossing the great dividing range which was a pretty slow 1st gear chug up.
Arriving in Tamworth had we had two agenda's well one for me and that was a Melbourne Cup celebration somewhere so we headed off to the Diggers club for a bet and a few drinks, it was a great place with TV screens at every angle and a good friendly crowd, we enjoyed a great Chinese dinner and settled for the night.
And no the second one wasnt the big Guitar even though I did get a picture of it especially for my friend Liz who I think referred to it as the most ridiculous thing she had ever seen, but it was our turning point to heading west and Broken Hill bound.
The night before we left Tamworth a thunderstorm loomed over the town and then the heavens opened and down she poured for about 30 seconds and then the Hail thundered down, this was very strange occurence for us.
The next morning we headed off as the day ahead was to travel as far as we could and find a suitable camp spot for the night.
Outback here we come again.
