Bolivia's huge salt dessert was something indescribable. It should definitely be ranked as one of the must do's in life. I say salt dessert but the whole excursion was incredible. We were out for four days, three nights and went through the most amazing nature. We went through mountains on dirt roads, through desserts with active and inactive volcanoes, big active areas with boiling mud pools and thermal Springs which we bathed in.
We went to lots of different lakes with different minerals in which made them unbelievable red and green colors. And the flamingos, everything was so beautiful.
We went in 4x4 cars and we were five of us in our car. It was me and Scott, Kiran and two Irish girls. We slept in very basic hostels at nights and it was freezing. -25 degrees as coldest and it wasn't easy to sleep. We didn't have feather sleeping bags but it was all worth it. We had fun in the evenings and the Irish girls had lots of beers and Irish coffee with them. The last night, we slept in a salt hostel, made out of salt and we got a bottle of wine and also our first shower :) We had a chef, very typically Bolivian lady with long plats with decorations in the end of them and also an apron. She was so funny and made incredible food. Oh, yes, having said that, Scott was sick the last day. In the Salt dessert and yea, look at our pichtures from there and you will see the reason to why you wouldn't want to be sick just there!
There are a lot to tell but if you look through our pictures you will get some of the stories anyway. The salt dessert and the surroundings are very high up. We were as high up as over 5000 meters.
