Spent a terrible night trying to sleep and woke up with a big, red puffy eyelid. Luckily it wasn't sore, only uncomfortable and ugly! It might have been due to an allergy to the snails, the wine or all the dust in the air before yesterday's storm. Had our roll and croissant for breakfast then a taxi to the Eiffel Tower. We had a walk around the base but decided not to go up as the lines were far too long. After soaking it all up we headed to the nearby Batobus stop on the Seine. Took a cruise up to the Orsay Museum. After seeing the lines there, headed for the nearby Louvre. Somehow we managed to find a secret entrance where we walked straight through, as opposed to the lines for the main pyramid entrance which were ginormous. The Louvre is amazing. You could probably spend 3 days there and still not see everything. Not only are the exhibits brilliant, so is the building itself. After we were all exhibited out we headed out to look for a place to lunch. We found a nice place with good food and yet another rude waiter. Am starting to sense a pattern! Walked back to our hotel. Unfortunately, most if the shops are shut on Sunday, including Galleries Lafayette but we did walk through a lovely market that had lots of interesting things. We are loving all the old, beautiful buildings. Paris is such a pretty place. Dinner was again ar another restaurant recommended by our concierge, Ambassade d'Auvergne. You know it's going to be good when even the locals eat there and people are lining up before opening time. The food was excellent. The waiter? Well, the look he gave the girls when we first went in, I nearly walked out. Such disdain! I would go again though. I think you just have to ignore the manners, or lack of, of the waiters. Bon appetit!
