Shayna's Adventures in Europe!
Spent the past 3 days in Rome. We were told this city was as big as NYC. I believe it. Everywhere you turn, there's an ancient building. A 16th century church here, an ancient column there. Amazing.
On the first day here, we saw the Roman Forum, Colosseum and nearby Palantine Hills, some really cool fountains (including the Trevi Fountain), and the Spanish steps.
Second day, we saw many churches. So many different styles.
Today, we went to the Vatican. I admit, the Sistine Chapel was not quite as big as I expected, but it was still amazing. Michelangelo was a genius. St. Peter's Church, the whole center of Catholicism, was absolutely incredible. There is a huge collonade and piazza in front. Words can't actually describe the interior of the church itself, other than INCREDIBLE.
Still not sick of gelato or pasta yet. Maybe by the end of Florence.
