Finally had a long lie! Pancakes for breakfast and then got ready to go rafting. I was the only one from our group going, so waited for the bus on my own. I was supposed to be getting picked up at 11, and waited, and waited, and waited. Turns out they had 30 people rafting that day, and they'd forgotten about me. Totally raging. Was stuck on my own, and the others had headed to the watering hole about 25 mins walk outside of town, but nobody was there..... ...

Up early again. Grabbed breakfast and then got a mini bus over to La Fortuna. Had a quick lunch of more rice and beans, and then over to book our tours for while we're here. I decided on a night visit to the volcano with a pizza party, and then trip to the hot springs, and white water rafting. Up early again to catch the bus to Cahuita. It was raining when we left, but luckily it had cleared up by the time we arrived. Dumped our bags and went for breakfast. I tried to get a cup of tea, but got a cup of hot milk with a tea bag in it. Yuck.. Our hotel was right next to the national park, which has amazing beaches. Up really early again (see a theme starting?) and left the hotel at 7 to catch the bus to Manzanillo. It's a tiny wee place about 30 mins away, and the bus driver was totally crazy. Again, the roads were half paved, and they don't appear to have got the concept of putting barriers on bridges. Or making them wide enough for 2 cars at a time, which makes it pretty sketchy. Up early and grabbed breakfast at the bakery. Quite confusing, as nothing is labeled, so it's hard to tell what has meat, and what has jam. Caught the bus to Puerto Viejo over on the Caribbean coast, about 4 and a half hours with one pit stop. Amazing scenery on the way out, beautiful lush mountains.
