We got up early today to get the 7.30am boat over to Mersing. Whilst waiting for the boat on the pier some cats came up to us, pestering us for food which was really annoying and a bit scary - I've had enough of animals after yesterday's escapades and have always hated cats they are evil! After a great night's sleep, we got up fairly early as we had decided to walk to monkey beach today, about 1.5 hrs walk away. Monkey beach is the next one along from Penuba bay (where we went yesterday) so we decided to grab breakfast at Penuba then carry on to monkey beach. The path after Penuba started out ok but then as it led us higher up and deeper into the jungle there were points where we really had to look for it and make sure we were going the right way....

We woke up quite late today in our haunted house on the hill. As I was the first to wake up I decided to go out onto our back balcony (yes we have 2 - how posh!) and test the temperature. As we had to make our way across town this morning to catch the bus to Mersing at 9am, we got up pretty early and had showers. This morning we had to get the 9am bus to Kuala Lumpur so after a rushed breakfast, we checked out of the Cameronian Inn and donned our rucksacks to go to the bus station. The bus was pretty empty so me and Saz managed to get the back seats and plenty of leg room, luxury!
