Mexico: Tulum, Merida, Palenque The rain followed us into Mexico (a hurricane off the coast of Nicaragua that has been moving North), but we managed to enjoy an afternoon on the beach at Tulum. It was possibly the most idyllic beach either of us have ever been to, with powder white sand and clear, turquoise sea. Belize: Belize City, Caye Caulker, Orange Walk and Lamanai We stopped off for one night in Belize City, along with a French friend that we met in Tikal, thinking that we´d catch up on laundry, internet etc and see the sights. Well, there wasn´t much to see, but we did find out that the Belizean´s have a whole different concept of punctuality when we waited for almost an hour for the laundry to open in the morning, and then discovered the owner hadn´t bothere...

Guatemala: Lago de Atitlan, Antigua, Rio Dulce, Tikal We made it through San Salvador, although as we were warned not to go out at night we stayed in our room the whole time until our bus left for Guatemala.
