Hi everyone,

WOW, we have had the most incredible 3 days up in the Bay of Islands! We were absolutely spoilt rotten! We started off with our helicopter ride which was so so so exciting! And it was great because Matt came along too and then just headed straight back to Auckland with the Helicopter. The housekeepers Alex and Karlene were lovely. They looked after us so well, we arrived to a full fridge of food. The guest house was great, we stayed in these really really cool double bunk beds that are enormous and we were facing each other! The beach was beautiful and we had it all to ourselves!

Our best and biggest surprise was the "shed" where we went to get the kayaks! It definately wasnt a shed, it was a massive warehouse full of all the toys you can imagine. Jet skis, a catamaran, kayaks, boats, snorkelling kit.....absolutely everything you can imagine! It was brilliant!

Alex took us on a tour of the bay of islands on one of the boats. It was amazing, and so beautiful. He took us all the way out to the hole in the rock. We went all the way through it and saw so many fish! Alex then very kindly went snorkelling off the boat to get us some mussels for supper. They were huge! They cooked us a delicious supper that night with the mussels and a really yummy fish (not sure of the name?!) We also went to the old capital of NZ called Russell. It was so small and cute!

We had the most fantastic few days, lying in the sun, going in the hot tub, snorkelling, kayaking... we were so spoilt but we loved every second of it! Then it was almost back to reality, when we went on our helicopter ride back to Auckland. The pilot showed us sharks and gave us a lovely tour from the sky and fiona even steered it for a bit! It was brilliant!!

We have picked up our camepervan and had our last night with Matt and we are now off to the Coromandel! We have had the BEST few days and now we are off on our road trip!!

P.S. Fiona has had some bad luck so far. She managed to get her sun cream confiscated, at big day out she got locked in the loo and flushed her sunglasses down there! and she lost her top which flew off her head while we were on the boat!! hahahaha
