What a day!!
We got up early for breakfast, I had already opened a few cards I had taken with me from Mum my Aunt which was nice to open. Then at breakfast I was given a few more gifts from Paula & Jon a lovely fan and my fav which I keep looking for, jelly sweets!! Yummm. We then set off on our day trip of snorkelling, there were 8 in our group all very nice too. On route we stopped in a Pearl farm, much better than the one we had stopped in on ourselves, and some lovely items for sale for amazing prices, Paula & Jon bought me a lovely pearl bracelet. We headed to the docs and noted it was a tad breezy but the boat wasnt too bad at all, we passed some really lovely looking islands on the way we stopped to do a bit of fishing, unfortunately I didnt have much luck with that!! A few were caught though, just by the girls I hasten to add!! so on we went to our first snorkelling point. Getting to grips with snorkelling again in open waters is always an interesting time, but after a few false starts I got managed to have a look about, water was quite warm considering the breeze on the boat. There were quite a few 'Doris fish' if you have seen Nemo! sea urchins with amazing length spikes, you certainly want to stear clear of after my experience in the past with those evil things! A little murky but that was probably part to do with the weather too. Getting back on board the boat was so cold out of the water so we wrapped ourselves up and headed on. At the next snorkelling pointstill being a little chilly I passed and watched and chatted to a few others that thought better or going back in!! After this the crew put together a lovely lunch which there was an awful lot left over but we were all full! We again headed on to a further location, as this was our last point to snorkel I went in, again so warm in the water and some lovely coral and fish about, some areas were quite shallow and with the urchins about had to be very careful to steer well clear! The chill factor was expectedgetting out this time but well worth it!! We headed to main land and set off on the coach to Bai Sau Beach meant to be pretty famous. It was a lovely beach and warm waters.
Dinner and cocktails yum!! We headed out me donning my new bracelet started with a pre dinner drink at a beach bar then headed up for a lovely curry, so nice to have some different flavours! And a bottle of wine too. We headed back to find a beach bar stopping as you do for Kem (Ice Cream) and some chocolate on the way, we ended up at our resort bar to finish the night with a lovely Margerita for me!!
A fantastic birthday for sure and great company to spend it with.
