Bangkok is an interesting looking city from above. The whole place is gridded. Miles and miles of straight lines. There really wasn't anything I could pick out as the main city centre. Everything was completely uniform. I wonder what it would look like during the day. The airport was largely empty, probably about as busy as the Blenheim airport. The airport is pretty big and all over the place are these moving pathways to help you get around. And at the end ...

And we're off!! And off to a great start too. I have laryngitis and Bec has strep throat. Mum and I have spent the last two days loading me up with as much drugs as possible so know I feel alright just without a voice. Has made for a very quiet trip so far. Well we've made it through check in and customs. Having no voice wasn't a problem. Now we have a hour and a half wait. I think nerves are going to make the wait go extremely fast and achingly slow.

Bec and I got our travel documents today!!! Finally after all this time we have something to show for all the money we've been paying out. Suddenly everything feels so much more real. There's so much there. Plane tickets, tour tickets, hotel reservations, everything we need to go. Now we just have to wait another two weeks. That'll be the hard part.

Well Kimberley is back. She arrived back just before my birthday. I’m really happy to see her, we’ve all really missed her but I wanted to spend that time with her in London.
