Bec and I started planning this trip over a year ago, around mid 2008. Not that we really did anything about it. There was some half hearted saving going on and a few destinations in mind but it wasn't until Kimberley started planning her families trip to the Middle East that we started any actual planning.

Bec contacted Kimberley's travel agent, Jill and set up an appointment. We went in together, just to sit down and talk about what we wanted out of our trip.

She was so helpful!! We mentioned a few places we wanted to see. Bec wanted to see the pyramids and ride a camel in Egypt and see Pompeii in Italy and I wanted to see more of Europe, do a cruise down the Nile and see the Greece Isles.

It took a while for her to get back to us but when she did, she gave us so many ideas for tours we could choose from.

Eventually, eventually, we decided on three tours to do together and then because I had more money saved and more time off, I decided to do a fourth tour just on my own.

We decided on;
Splendours of Egypt (Sept 10th - 18th); Spotlight on Greece (Sept 19th - 22nd); and Rome, Sorrento and Capri (Sept 23rd - Oct 1st).

My extra tour was an eleven day tour from Italy to London (Oct 2nd - 12th)

So that was our trip. Leaving New Zealand 9th September. Bec would be returning 2nd Oct and I would get back 13th Oct.
