When I arrived in queenstown on Friday 27th dec I was pretty shattered after my mammoth journey but still the views on the way in & seeing the town gave me energy as it was so stunning! The lake is a few different blue colours, beautiful! I instantly love NZ, so pleased to be here travelling it! I strolled in to nomads hostel & got a room, in a 6 bed dorm. I was in QT for 6 nights, went on a bar crawl with a few guys from my hostel room. Had a great night, watched fire works by the lake at midnight! I've made quite a few friends during my stay in QT & always had people to spend time with&do things with. I did the Nevis bungy jump which I've always wanted to do! The feeling when I jumped & was falling was unbelievable! I loved it! Although, my cord didn't work when I pulled it, it's supposed to make u sit upright after a few bounces so you're pulled up comfortably but I was pulled up upside down!! Slight head rush & quite scary but I'm still alive!! So pleased I did it, it was an unbelievable feeling! After, Iain (friend from my room) & I got a fergburger, a big deal out here apparently! Prime NZ beef! It was very good!! Iain bought a motorbike so he took me out for a drive one day to glenorchy which was a stunning drive, we stopped for tea & cake in glenorchy! Brilliant day out on the motorbike! I was quite jet lagged so very tired most evenings so only went out NYE, the hostel did free dinner each evening so that was nice! Was a little apprehensive at first turning up on my own but made friends so easily & spent time chilling on the sofas talking to people & feel fine about it now! I spent time chilling by the lake, writing my diary & researching NZ which was lovely. Weather was hot when I first arrived but we've also had some rain & cooler days! Now I'm on the start of my South Island loop on the kiwi experience bus up to Christchurch.
