We decided to get a bus to the Argentinian side of the falls & pay in ourselves as the trips seemed expensive, the falls are on the Brazilian Argentinian border so both countries have access to the waterfalls with 80% on the Argentinian side but Brazil have the best panoramic view. The Falls are made up of a system of more than 275 waterfalls spanning over an area 2.7 kilometers wide we were so excited to get in to the park! We walked up to the main road after breakfast & a taxi pulled over on the road to the hotel & offered us a cheap price to the ticket office so we jumped in! It wasn’t busy when we arrived but it’s in between seasons so we were lucky to get straight in. We booked on the speedboat ride for 1pm that takes you under the falls so we decided to do the middle walking trek first which was approx 1-2 hours in total. It was an easy walk through the rainforest on a metal walkway lifted above the forest floor, the view wasn’t as overpowering as we expected but the water levels weren’t at their highest so there wasn’t as many waterfalls in the lower areas. We had a bite to eat & got ready for the speedboat, there were coatis around the park which were racoon like animals they were climbing through the trees and following people with food they looked really cute but the guides warned everyone not to feed or touch them. We got taken on a jeep through the jungle to get to the speedboat dock, the dock was absolutely covered in butterfly’s there were thousands flying around, I don’t know how I managed to walk down to the boat area but I did! We got front seats in the boat & were given waterproof bags for our belongings, the trip up to the falls was fast & very bumpy! The falls were spectacular from below & the volume of water was overwhelming, we viewed the falls & got chance to take photographs before we got told to be prepared to get drenched! The boat took us directly under the falls everyone in the boat got absolutely wet through, the water was so fresh & there was rainbows everywhere from the shimmer of the sun on the water! The boat trip was absolutely fantastic we were so glad we had done it & we still had the best bit left! We dried off & on the way to the train we saw a family of monkeys in the trees, they were so cute, the babies were brave & trying to scavenge for food, we were told to ignore them but it was impossible!! Once we had got the train the walk was about 1km to the top of the park, nothing could prepare you for the last walkway onto the devils throat! I literally stood with my jaw open for ages the view was unbelievable, The sheer power & velocity of the water was overwhelming! Wow what a day!
