Hola from Quito!!

Hopefully this update will work - i´ve already written one which disappeared! apologies if the spelling in this is rubbish - its very slow so only comes up ages after i wrote it!

Quito is a very interesting city, and very different to the UK. the old town is very beautiful, but the rest of the city is a bit run down with random posh expensive shopping centres where the posh and the rich go!

I have been learning spanish., but 4 days is not really enough! hardly anyone speaks english here, even the spanish teachers don´t speak that much!! it is very hard, but hopefully iwon´t need it that much in the galapagos, and i know enough to get by - the numbers and do you speak english etc!!

on sunday i go to the galapagos, and won´t get to a computer more than once a week and maybe not always then! however, yesterday i went to the offices of the charity that runs the reserve and they showed me a video and i´m quite excited! there was someone saying that pretty much everyone spoke english and they all jumped in a pool to cool off! i´m looking forward to it!

i´ve been fed very well here, - i get 2 meals a day from the family i´m staying with and lunch at the spanish school. the food is not that different really (sorry steph!) but with every meal they serve fresh fruit juice - the blender appears to be the most important kitchen appliance! and they have LOADS of different fruits here so its great!

I appear to have cocked up on the photo front, every time i plug in my usb photo thing it says it needs to format it - but then i´ll lose my photos! so they might have to wait until i get back and can plug in my camera! ´(i´ll switch to a different card and format it first! )
