dear all,
hope you are well. ok so i think my last update was just after santiago.
so the next stop on the trip was san pedro ( i think ) and this is alot higher( altitude 2800m ) above sea level. there wasnt much to do here apart from a trip to the luna valley. As san pedro ( our last stop in chile) was in the middle of the desert this meant we it was a trip predominatly to walk around the landscape, the trip culminated with us walking up a massive sand dune and watching the sunset, which was totally amazing !
We all suffered slightly with the altitude as you just feel that you never get a proper breath of fresh air ! the oxygen level is significantly decresed up here.
Anyway after two days there, we started our 4x4 trip across the salt flats (desert crossing first and then salt flats) into bolivia. this took us three days . we stopped on the way but the places we stayed had no hot water and some didnt even have showers and it was freezing cold.
however, seeing the flamingos , the lamas, having a naturanl thermal bath, seeing all the different coloured lakes (minerals or microorganisms tunring them different colours) , and seeing the steaming geezers connected to the active volcanos , kind of made it worth it !
after the desert crossing we saw the salt flats , where we got to take perspective photos! some of them look so so cool, promise to get them up asap but computers here arent great!
in sucre at the moment , lovely town going to see some dinosaur footprints
take care xx
