Hello!
I am currently in Swakopmund, a coastal town which me and a few girls decided to visit for a few days to get away from the farm and see more of Namibia. Having a great time, they have sanddunes here so we are going quad biking this afternoon and yesterday we did a coastal tour and saw seals/dolphins which was great.
The last few weeks have gone well, have had lots of fun and met nice people. It's a very social atmosphere, there are 25 volunteers in total so always someone to chat to! Been working closely with the animals alongside doing manual work, research and 'food prep' - basically sorting all the food for the animals on the farm - a lot of organisation! But really good fun and I'll be sad to leave on Monday and say goodbye to everyone.
We've also seen some great dartings of leopard, cheetah and eland (see pics) as well as close time with the baboons! The baboons are great although you have to put them in place otherwise they will attack! One bit me the other day so I 'scruffed' them - suddenly they all turned on me and attacked me! I have a pretty spectacular bruise on my leg and arm as a result but because I stood up to them it works, and now they have more respect etc. We've had them sleep in our room as well which is great fun although they are DESTRUCTIVE creatures - anything they fund is instantly destroyed. I have no buttons left on any clothes and they managed to tear one of my tops, which considering how limited I am on clothes I wasn't too impressed with!
Looking forward to heading to Cambodia on Monday, can't believe how quickly my time in Africa has gone. Look forward to updating you soon on everything
