The very commercial yet small town of Siem Reap was clearly built for the soul purpose of tourism, so we could all flock to the temples. But my my how impressive they are! We visted 4 temples that completly blew me away - including the one where Tomb Raider was set! The tree roots and entire trees cascaded down the temples and distruputed the stones. Such a collision of nature and man made. Incredible.
We also visted a floating village which was interesting, however quite overidden by tourists. We did see an alligator farm though! Couldn't really call them cherpy miind....
On the last day a few of us from the group ventured off for a cooking course! What a ball! We made fresh & fried spring rolls, Khmer Curry which was amazing and a desert! We were cooking and eating for about 4 hours.... accompanied with plenty of beer. The night progressed and we stayed long into the night sampling various drinks including tequila with tabasco....
A quick dash into the ngiht market I bagged myself some amazing cambodian pants! Low crotch being the essence!
The final morning I rose at 4.30 am, jumped in a tuk tuk with my fellow travelers and wipped through the darkness back to Angor Wat Temple. As we found our way through the dark we positioned ourselves next to a lake in front of the temple and watched the sunrise. Although it was a little cloudy it didn't detract from the atmospheric beauty that rose behind the dramatic temple. I got some amazing shots. Back to the hotel before another 7 hour bus ride to Battambang...
