After leaving lovely Colonia, we took a bus to Punta Del Este via Montevideo (the capital of Urugyay). All in all the drive took about 5 hours, but it didn´t feel that long as we stopped half way at Montevideo for half an hour. Also the buses in South America are so comfpoortable with big seats and air-con, much better then England, so managed to sleep for a while. It alsomeant I got to have a look at Uruguays coastline, which is pretty green.
We arrived in the evening and checked into our hostel. 2 blocks from one of the beaches and 5 from the other. Punta Del Este is a large peninsula separating the Atlantic Ocean and the Rio del Plata, so you get two beaches, two types of seas-one calm and blue, the other rougher and slightly browner in colour. Not that it mattered, both were lovely and it was just what I wanted.
The two evenings there were slightly more chilled than previous nights and consisted on dinner and 1 drink and the twodeya were very lazy.
Spent day one lying inthe sunfor the whole time pretty much-was relaxing and great, but didn´t really realise how hot and powerful the sun was. The next day, we were heading back to colonia to get our boat back to Buenos Aires, so the morning was spent avoiding the sun and meandering around.
Got back to Buenos Aires and went back to my homestay house for one evening where I had dinner with the family. Ended up staying the night there as Virginia said I could stay and get ready for my flight early next morning.
Rio here I come...
