Left Cusco and headed to Arequipa. Here, after chilling out for a few days, we got back into the cultural side of things.
Went to see the convent, which was huge, a mini town of itsa own. Its still in use today, but that section of the convent was cornered off and the number of nuns has massively decreased. It was pretty interesting thought and very pretty, plus the cafe had the nicest lemon pie ever (its still the small things that count)
I also wet to a museum there which had loads of nformation about the incas and even has a wel preserved mummy on show which they had found in the mountains as an offering to the gods. It was really interesting, but the mummy was quite freaky as she looked so real still with loads of hair, fingernails etc.
The main plaza was also very pretty, and there was a great local food market, which i got to go to as we were back to camping and cook groups were back on dinner duties. The place was insane with crazy colours and smells everywhere.
We also had one night out in town, which was pretty funny. Just lots of crazy dancing.
