We arrived in Brisbane with cloudy skies and walked to the hostel which ended up being the hostel stu stayed in last time he was in Brisbane. We booked our day trip to Australia zoo then went for a wonder around the city towards the south bank. Wandering along the Southbank you could see some of flood damage, there used to be a few man made beaches but only one was open after the floods. we walked back through the botanical gardens and headed to the down under bar where we had some cheap dinner and $10 jugs of beer :) we ended up staying for the pub quiz which we came 3rd in woooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Feeling abit delicate after the $10 jugs of beer we got up extremely early and went to Australia Zoo. The zoo was awesome, stu loved it! We went to the famous crocoseum, watched a tiger show and we even got to feed the elephants and kangaroos again I felt very brave.
Leaving the zoo I was getting very excited for the Royal Wedding, we were planning where to watch the nig event. we ended up deciding to go to the British Pub called the Pig and Whistle which had an English themed menu, English beer and a HUGE screen to watch the wedding where we got front row seats.....it was even raining to make us feel more at home. The wedding was beautiful and just LOVED both dresses she wore, they both looked very happy awwwwww!
the next day stu coped rather well as I was watching all the clips I could find on the BBC website about the royal wedding, he even bought me the newspapers so I could read every little bit of information printed :) lots of reading whilst waiting for our flight back home to Sydney, we were so lucky to get back as we were flying with Tiger Airways which had cancelled all its flights the previous two days.
I was very happy to be back in our flat in Bondi but I enjoyed going half way up the East Coast x x
