Ok so my first impression of Surfers Paradise probably set my mind frame for the rest of our time here. The weather wasn't very good at all, we had rain, wind then the sun would pop out for a second, rain, rain, cold temperatures, grey clouds and that was the pattern of weather for the entire time we were in Surfers. Anyways I shall stop my moaning about the weather. We did however get picked up from the bus terminal in a limo which was rather cool. the hostel was quite good as we had our own little flat which was a pleasant surprise however hot water didn't exist in this hostel which was bad news which probably didn't help t improve my opinion if surfers.
On the plus side my cousin was coincidently in surfers at the same time as us so we headed to their hotel to meet up for dinner. We ate a lovely yummy restaurant called BarItalia. After saying bye on the way back to our hostel we walked past a dare devil theme park which for some unknown reason really intrigued me so we had a wonder and after persuading stu we catapulted ourselves us in to the air on the ride called the slingshot which does what the name says throws you up into the air to the tallest building in surfers. It was basically a reverse bung jump and I loved it. Let's just say Stu was very impressed with this daring side which only makes an appearance once in a blue moon. Continuing on our high we joined the hostel big night out and went to a few of the bars surfers had to offer which if I am honest wasn't much. So leaving early we decided to have a late night walk on the beach where the waves where very angry!
On our last full day in Surfers we headed to Movie World which was a tad overpriced for what it was but good fun. We went on all the major rides and wandered around the Harry Potter store which was quite good. Once we got back to the hostel we decided on Thai food and wondered around surfers for abit before eating at a really yummy little Thai place just outside the centre of town. As it was the royal wedding the next day all the TV channels where going crazy with cheesy shows about the Royals. So we headed back to our apartment style hostel with boags and chocolate to watch the most cheesy movie about how Kate and Wills met, it was that bad t was actually good haha!!
The next day we wandered around in the rain again and then jumped onto the grey hound waving good bye to Australia's version of Miami (not that I have ever been to Miami) and hello to Brisbane x x
p.s. don't get me wrong I didn't not like Surfers Paradise it was just abit too built up, money money money and the weather was pants!
