We are in Noosa! So lots to catch up since we left Byron Bay. After Byron Bay we went to a place called Surfers Paradise. It is not how it sounds! It is a very commercial built up city which looks like Miami or Vega. They actually call it little Vegas. It is full of bars and bar crawls and not paradise at all! The beach is nice but is spoilt by the back drop of the skyscrapers. Worth seeing but not somewhere you would want to stay. We had torrential rain the first day we were there but the second day we managed to get some sun and went to the beach.
We then went to Brisbane. Everybody said we wouldn't be impressed by Brisbane but I thought it was great city. Its much much smaller than Sydney and Melbourne but its very pretty and has a nice feel to it. There is no beach there and you can't swim in the river as there are sharks (!) so they have made a man made lagoon which has a little beach. We went there one day and its nice as you have a view of the cty as a backdrop. Its a nice mixture of old architure and nice new buildings (not like surfers which is v run down). There are some incredible views in Brisbane - we walked over a huge bridge to a place called kangeroo point one night and saw the whole city. It was v impressive but we didn't have out camera!
Next we made our way to Noosa. On our way we stopped at Steve Irwin's zoo. We had the most fun ever! We got to feed elephants, kangeroos, watch 2 croc shows and hold a koala! So worth it and the photos are great. The zoo is about an hour away from Noosa which is where we are now. It is similar to Byron Bay as it is a surfer town but much smaller. We have had 2 nights here and that is plenty. The bech is beautiful and luckily we had great weather yesterday - 32 degrees! Next stage of our trip involves 2 tours. We are going camping on an island called fraser island for 3 days 2 nights from 31st march. We have a campsite already made up for us thankfully! The bugs and spiders here are supposed to be huuuuuuuuuuuuuge. After Fraser on the 5th april we are sailing the whitsundays for 2 nights. This is a boat trip where you stay on the boat for the entire time. The photos people have showed us look amazing. If the weather is nice the beaches are pure white and the sea a perfect blue so fingers crossed!
I won't have any internet for a about a week while I'm on the trips but wil let you know how I get on and post some photos too. Lots of love Ve xxx
