After a very early start we boarded a local bus which was extremely crowded and lots of people were staring at us. Just as we all managed to get seats the bus broke down.... grrrrrrrrrreat! We then got a different bus to one of the Mosques (we can't remember the name - name and pictures to follow!) It was so beautiful although there were MILLIONS of pigeons swarming around and a strange bird man who was 'sweeping' the floor by waving rags around his head until they hit the floor.
After this we visited a Sikh Temple which was even more amazing (even in barefoot on a dirty floor!) They were singing religious songs accompanied by Tabla and Harmonium - they made food there for anyone, regardless of religion.
We then went to a spice market which sold many different spices (most of which we had not heard of before) and bought far too many nuts. From here we wanted to get to Connaught Place, the easiest route being a bus and then the metro - however we were not informed of just how busy the bus would be! Think a busy tube and you are nearly there.... the bus driver also drove off before we were all on so some had to jump! The tube however was amazing, it was very clean and modern and we were very impressed!!
We had a gorgeous lunch in a hotel in Connaught Place and ate far far too much before returning to our hotel (Poojah Place) by Tuk Tuk which was a crazy experience to say the least.
We will not be on here for a couple of days but will post soon.
