School, day 2 Off to school for day two and our first class teaching English. Initially we helped cut up vegetables, but really we have no idea what they were, and I'm not sure how to explain them either. Shaped a little like a green pepper, light green in color and white and fluffy inside. When cooked it is like celery and onion, no real flavour and partially translucent. Our day of firsts We met Sabine, the Dutch director of the program in the Plaza de Armas. She will be volunteering with us today to explain the program to us and introduce us in English. After this there will not be anyone who speaks English again. We walked the Main Street, talking about the region and the program. Set up day This day was a day planned for setting up our volunteering project, Spanish lessons, cheaper accommodation (as we were staying 2 or more weeks) and trekking options. We meet Sabine by accident, a project coordinator who we organised to meet tomorrow to visit her project. Bus to Huaraz A bus to Huaraz is the main event of today, a bus with WIFI, very slow WIFI but still, it's impressive. We finished our trip and then walked up to our hostel, Alpez Huarrez, an interesting hostel designed more like a hotel. The free upgrade was great, with added private bathroom and cable tv, can't complain. The bed is like a hammock, but for $10 each, it's still great value.
