Good evening from Wellington!
This will probably be the last blog entry from the North Islands as we are travelling over to the South Islands at 8am tomorrow morning! We've had a busy, busy few days travelling from Taupo to Wellington. We couldn't do our Sky Dive in the end due to cloudy weather so are going to do another one down South. We left Taupo and headed to the Tangariro National Park. This is where the majority of filming was done for Lord of the Rings so as you can imagine, the scenary was beautiful. We walked the Tangaririo Crossing or should I say climbed it, it was a killer! It should have taken 8 hours and we managed to do it in 6 and a half but it was hard going. The first 2 hours nearly killed us! At times it was literally climbing up the rock faces but it was totally worth it in the end. Watching Mt. Doom (an active volcano) smoke, the Red Creator and the Emerald Lakes were worth the pain and effort as you will see form the pictures. Hope you enjoy!
For now its goodbye from the North and I'll be in touch from the South.
Love to you all, Sara xx
