Alright - so I will do my token blog just to justify my name being included on it!
So I guess I should start at the beginning, which was the lovely 12 hour flight. Boarding the plane we had the pleasure of passing through 1st and 2nd class seats, which was nice of them to show us what we could have had if we weren't on a budget/being a scrooge (of which Sara is so familiar with being!) To be fair tho we had the front seats of our cabin so had all the leg room we wanted; in flight entertainment was good and the food n drink was more than adequate (of which not a drop was wasted!) so no complaints there.
Arriving into Bangkok it was stupidly hot (think its been averaging in the mid to high 30's). So when we had to cram onto a train like sardines in a tin, fully clothed (as in jeans n jumper as opposed to being naked!) and being twice our normal depth with our backpacks, it was not enjoyable to say the least.
Nonetheless we sweated it out and thankfully our hostel was right next to the train station. The hostel is tidy enough though and it has a pretty cool common area which is good for chilling.
Given that it was an overnight flight and being 6 hours ahead, we were a little jet lagged. However we decided to have a go at roaming the streets of Bangkok, which I have to say is pretty mental. It seems that the traffic is constant and everything is just go go go! Anyway not having the energy to either barter with the many food stalls or more commonly not knowing what food they were exactly selling, I decided to go for something known as a K-F-C, it's quite traditional to Thailand so you've probably not heard of it! (Sara was a bit more braver than me and gambled and ended up with rice and some sort of spicy chicken!)
Moving on, as the days have passed we have slowly been getting to grips with the time zone and been doing more and more each day. Since arriving, the general gist of our time has been spent visiting various markets, temples and going a little more traditional with the cuisine - I love food too much not to experiment!
Anyway I think that's enough from me for now - I'm sure Sara will upload the photos once she has mastered her £300 camera!
Much love
Bryan
