Louise's latest entry
Manzini, Swaziland
I thought I was being savvy by not paying for another night at the backpackers before catching the 3am bus to Maputo, a couple of us had attempted to do an all-nighter… and failed miserably. (Preparing for this by staying out until 4 the previous night probably hadn't been a genius plan.) When the bar we had sneakily and briefly slept in …
Jen Wowee!!
re: Mellow Mozam-beachDad Yet another suitably randomly planned itinerary from Lou-Lou! Nostalgia crept in with the mention of Vilancoulos, Bazaruto (where your paternal grandfather spent a tense night drifting around after losing their outboard motors on the way to island) and Inhambane. Hope Oz is living up to expectations... <3 XX
re: Mellow Mozam-beachDad Surprise! Despite certain occurrences, there will be no parental comments here. Had forgotten the gorgeous bread in Maputo, though.
re: Madness in MozamMum I absolutely love reading your stories! They are so entertaining and sometimes I find it difficult to believe you haven't made it all up but actually experienced it all. Can't wait for the next entry!
re: On the road againDad WOW! You're getting better all the time (at writing, not fire-making!) Even a little literary/poetic at times - watch out, Girl! Envy you the snorkelling - fabulous sensation (makes me believe that we really were once aquatic beings). Of course, being your parent, I can't leave out that I think you're a little careless when setting off with complete strangers... But then, I AM just a parent (and a very envious one at that ;-). Surprised that, despite the exploits of your great (x5) grandfather, you don't still have elements of the bush in your genes :-0 Keep having fun, Sweetheart. Love you very much! <3 XX PS The sums one has to solve when submitting comments are getting more and more difficult - today it's "What is 4 + 2!" At this rate, my comments might begin drying up. Hope you'll understand... ;-)
re: On the road againMum Just LOVE to read about the lovely life you are living! Wish I was there with you (sometimes) .
re: Lilongwe lollzMphatso Kampeni Nice blog, hope you enjoyed Mocambique too.
re: Lilongwe lollzEric Wowwwww hope you had great time here
re: Lilongwe lollzDad Lovely reading of your escapades again, Ms Chameleon - as always. And whatever format you decide on.... just keep 'em coming! You mentioned "working" above somewhere (probably a slip of the tongue ;-) ) How's about expanding a little on that sometime? X
re: Lilongwe lollzDad Wannabe malarian, huh? Thank goodness your 3 diagnoses were all wrong and Dr Kid was right the first time. Having said that - rather safe than sorry. Hmm - crocodile sosaties not what they're cracked up to be, mmm? Surprised (not). Sorry to tell you, but I'm rather relieved you weren't able to find any of the lizards. Like, African lizards are seldom the type that you feed with cockroaches etc. You seem to be meeting up with a fun bunch of folk in your travels - fabulous! Have fun on your onward travels, Angel - thanks for your blog, LOVE it! XX
re: Something-like-malaria and Easter weekendJennifer You have a gift for writing! I've been home a week and your writing makes me miss everything. BTW, I stopped taking my malaria pills in Kenya and got the worst fever all of a sudden one night and sent ppl out to look for blankets (my entire wardrobe want warming me up), which are pretty much unheard of that close to the equator. I didn't have malaria either though! Miss you!
re: Zanzi Zanzi ZanzibaaarJennifer I had met Esther in Dar when she was there the first time! Small world.
re: Trains, Boats, and Automobilesdavid good to see that at least you got the chameleon in focus... seemed pretty calm after it tried to rip you to pieces... hehe
re: Casual chameleon roadtripDad Hey Globetrotter! What with catching pagages, dalla dallas and matatus from one place to another, giving marital advice to suspected wife-beaters and lending a sympathetic ear to grumpy oldies (you should be used to that, after the years spent being brought up by your father ( ;-)), you certainly seem to have had your hands full. Why am I not surprised that you managed to get around to a (quasi) rugger game to boot! (sorry!). Glad you're making the best of it, Sweetheart. Lots of love, <3
re: Trains, Boats, and AutomobilesErik D. Fascinating but horribly adventurous!
