I've been in Myanmar for just over a week and I really love it here. It's so nice to get back to real Asia with culture and different food.
I started in Yangon, visited a huge pagoda and then headed for Bagan. Bagan was memorising! Thousands of temples and pagodas are scattered across the town and it's so lovely to explore off the tracks to find them. We had a nightmare one day when our E-bikes gave up on us. We ended up with 5 people and 2 bikes Hahaa give me a real moped!!
After Bagan me, kate and the 3 Irish girls went to Hispaw. First we caught a bus at 9pm that arrived in Mandalay at 2am. The bus company dropped us to the station and crammed about 20 people and their bags into the tuk tuk. The roof almost caved in I swear! We hung around in the train for 2 hours with the homeless and stray dogs and boarded our train. We went for upper class because we're ballers - it was £2 ;) . The train was 13 hours and we slept for the majority of it and woke up occasionally to see the beautiful scenery and then for the finale - an old metal bridge crossing from one mountain to another across a valley. Pretty high up but a great experience. The train actually rocked from one side to another! Many times we thought we were coming off the tracks but again all for the experiences haha
In Hsipaw me and Kate went on a 2 day 1 night hike. We walked with our "guide" for about 5 hours and then had lunch in the village went to explore and he got us lost in the hills on these really steep hills - we were definitely his first ever group. We had dinner in the village and then spent the night. It was quite hard going up because it was so hot but we had a nice time. It was nice to see some of the locals around the village and hear some of their history.
Right now we are on a bus to Mandalay and will explore the city when we finally arrive.
Wifi is not too good in Myanmar but il try upload some photos.
Peace and love
