We have spent a great week in Koningsbruck with our dear friends Achim & Hanna Blocher. Sunday was a nice day as Annamarie, Martin & Marieke drove from Windsbach to visit .
It was so good of them to come I think 4 to 5 hrs drive! We had morning tea & lunch with them and had a good time catching up. In the afternoon at 1.30 we farewelled the Jacobs family and went to the church where Achim (Hans) was playing the organ. After the service we had afternoon tea and special cakes. Then we participated in writing on paper shapes - what you expect from God and what you expect to do for God & the community ( as I understood it ) these were collected and made into a floral picture. Two of the folk from the church then shared some of the ideas. We stayed and had bratwurst sausages cooked on the barbecue.
Monday we did some shopping and Eva (The Jacob's daughter) came for a couple of nights. So good of her to come quite a long way to visit and to catch up .
Tuesday Eva was our guide and took us on the train to Dresden . Checked out the Frauenkirke where we had visited on previous occasions in Dresden , walked around the Markets and had Asian food for lunch. Back home for afternoon tea after which Phil & I prepared evening meal for us.
Another enjoyable day.
Wednesday Eva returned home . We had a pleasant day around the house watching the new car-port being built next door among other things.
Thursday Phil @ I walked into Koningsbruck to post some post cards and do some shopping and we returned home via the bakery.
At 3pm we went with Hans & Hanna to Pastor & Mrs Nentwich for afternoon tea. We had a lovely time with them and ended up staying for special sausages and potato salad for dinner. Such gracious hosts. ( Their son was in Australia last year and came to us for a meal) It was good to meet them .
Friday - our last day here - and we had another visit to the bakery to say farewell to the lady there ( we met at the church last Sunday) In the afternoon the lady Pastor from Hans & Hanna 's church came to wish them all the best for their golden wedding . We shared afternoon tea with her. At 5pm Elizabeth (another Blocher daughter sister of Annamarie ) came with two of the children Mauritz & Ulrike . So good to see them . So wonderful she could manage in her busy schedule to drive 2 hours here & 2 hrs back to come to visit. What a great week and we thank the Lord for these loving people. We always learn so much and enjoy the traditions that are part of this special household. We shall be sad to say farewell tomorrow. We fly to Paris for a 5 night stopover. So it's good night for now DV we'll catch up again in Paris .
