Our Travels
It was another boiling hot day. Before leaving Sun Peaks we had a drive round and looked at the village. We went down to the centre where the ski lifts are and saw the bike trails and golf driving range. We walked up through the pedestrian area and had a pizza slice to fill a gap before leaving. Back on the road to Kamloops we saw a couple of squirrels cross the road< but that was the end of wildlife sightings. Past Kamloops we started on the long journey to Whistler. We passed Savona and Tunkwa Lake. We crossed over the Thompson river and everywhere was very dry, arid and so hot. After Dead Man's Junction we reached Cache Creek where we stopped for an ice cream. We turned right onto route 99 which was the scenic route. We passed through miles upon miles of forest through winding roads, past rivers, lakes and more trees. Almost no sign of people or habitation. It was hot and dusty, quite a few horses. Past Fountain Flat there were several Indian Reservations, mountains, valleys, rivers in the valleys and steep mountains beyond.
