Hey guyz,
Can't believe time has gone so fast. This will be my last blog from Thailand. I have just returned from the elephant park which was absolutely amazing! Such a special, unique experience with the elephants.
My day to day chores consisted of shovelling elephant dung, cleaning and chopping the fruit and some of the days we would cut grass (food for the elly's) cutting banana trees, sowing and of course washing the elephants.
It is kind of weird when shovelling elephant pooh in the bright early morning that you've paid them to do this. But then you see the little baby elephant calf playing around and I would not want to be a any other place :)
The last day was the best. Me and Alice were allowed to go into the elephant stable to play with the baby elly. Being so close in contact with them, I'll never forget. The big mum, mantha, was looking at us while we stroked the baby and was so calm and serene. At a certain point I got up and just stood close to her and looked in her eyes. I still can't believe that the animals trust us considering what the people have put them through.
This afternoon I'll go do the legendary 'flight of the gibbons'. Yes, it's as crazy as it sounds. I'll be swinging/ flying through the jungle with only a rope attached to my body. Don't really know why I agreed on doing this, Rachel and Alice convinced me. We'll see if I survive: P
And that will be it than.. After that, only one more day, and than I'll be going home. I've dreaded that moment for some time now. I wish I could just fly off to somewhere else.
But I have no remorse, I'm proud of myself for undertaking this journey by myself and I can actually say that I have done everything what I wanted and more. Now it's time to come back home.
C u all in a couple of days in Holland :)
Xx Sanne
