Townsville

Townsville is one of those places that no one really stays in for long - but is just used as a gateway to the magnetic islands. We booked ourselves into what I can only describe as a haunted hotel. There was no one about - all the lights were off. There were lots of eerie noises at night - very odd! We arrived about 7.30 pm found that not a single restuarant in town was open. What is that about?!!! Not even McDonalds!! We got out of there 1st thing the next morning....

Magnetic Island

We had an ace time here staying at a great resort on the beach. To be honest we didnt do much apart from drink - but drink we did! The whole place was so friendly that we managed to get the entire bar to play a game of ring of fire. The bar manager was giving out free drinks and shots as well (we got him battered).

He must have been impressed with my drinking skills as he recruited me the next night to get as many people as poss to buy the cocktails - for every 5 I got I scored a free cocktail myself. That was incentive enough for me....

Sadly Ive not been able to drink red wine since as I had a bit of a disaster with it. My dorm mates were not amused by my sick action right outside the room!
